Calcutta , December 1 : The English champion , Leslie Driffield maintained his unbeaten record with an easy victory over Ameen Yunoos (Burma) by 1945 points to 582 in the World Amateur Billiards Championship , here tonight . Driffield will meet the reigning champion , Robert Marshall in his concluding match on Wednesday .
Despite playing against a weak opponent , Driffield did not relax and treated this as a warm-up for his game against Marshall . He once again gave a confident display , showing mastery control over the balls in losing hazard play . At the same time he was very adept at top of the table play when the balls were correctly positioned .
At the close of the first session he commanded a lead of 872 , 256 with a break of 188 in play . During the first two hours of play he rattled off one double century and four century breaks . They were , in the order of scoring , 109 , 113 , 124 , 109 and 211 the last two were consecutive breaks . His other breaks to pass the fifty mark were 71 and 66 .
